— About this service

Emergency roof repairs — done properly, first time.

If your roof is leaking now, call us first — 07759 089 271. We’ll triage on the phone, talk you through immediate steps to limit water damage inside, and get out to you the same day where the diary allows. Emergency calls take priority over scheduled work — they have to.

Most of our emergency calls come from three causes: a tile or run of tiles slipping after high winds, a chimney flashing lifting in a storm, or an existing leak overwhelming a temporary fix. The job on the day is usually a temporary watertight repair to stop further ingress; the permanent repair can be quoted properly once the roof is dry and accessible.

— Emergency callouts we handle

Every kind of emergency roof repairs work we take on.

  • Active roof leak into the property

Water coming through the ceiling — sheet, contain, find the entry point, temporary repair on the day.

  • Storm damage & tile loss

High-wind tile loss, broken ridge tiles, lifted flashings — make safe and watertight.

  • Lifted lead flashing or apron

Lead pulled away from chimney, abutment or skylight — re-dress, clip and patch.

  • Blown-off ridge or hip caps

Failed ridge mortar gives way in wind. Re-bed temporary; full re-bed quoted separately.

  • Fallen TV aerial or branch damage

Aerials and branches can damage multiple tiles at once. Strip damaged area, lay new.

  • Failed flat-roof patch

Where a previous repair has lifted or split — patch on the day, full assessment after.

  • Gutter overflow flooding the wall

Cleared, re-graded or temporarily diverted to stop water ingress at the wall.

  • Failed temporary repair

Tarpaulin lifted, sealant let go, previous patch failed — replaced properly.

What to do before we arrive

  1. Put down towels & buckets

Catch what’s coming through. Photograph the ceiling stain — useful for insurance later.

  2. Move furniture & electronics

Especially anything that can’t get wet. Cover what you can’t move with plastic sheet.

  3. Don’t puncture the ceiling unless it’s bowing

If the ceiling bulges with collected water, a small pencil hole in the lowest point will release it into a bucket — much safer than letting it collapse on its own.

  4. Stay off the roof

A wet roof in wind is genuinely dangerous. We’re insured and equipped — leave it to us.

  5. Photograph what you can see

From the ground, take photos. Helpful for both us (preparation) and your insurer (claim).

Common questions

Emergency roof repairs — frequently asked questions.

Direct answers to the things Kent homeowners ask us most about emergency roof repairs. Don’t see yours? Just call.

Are you actually available 24/7?

No — and we don’t pretend to be. We’re a small, local team. We aim to attend emergency leaks the same day during opening hours (Mon–Sat 7:30–18:00) where the diary allows. For genuine out-of-hours emergencies, we triage by phone and can sometimes get out the same evening. Call us — we’ll tell you straight.

How much does an emergency callout cost?

Typical emergency attendances run £150–£400 depending on travel and the temporary work needed on the day. Permanent repairs are quoted separately and we’ll come back to discuss the long-term fix once the roof is dry and accessible.

Will my insurance cover this?

Most home insurance policies cover storm damage and accidental damage, but not general wear-and-tear. We provide written invoices and photographs of the damage and the repair — what insurers need for a claim. Worth calling your insurer the day it happens.

What if I can’t get hold of you?

Call 07759 089 271 — Billy answers if at all possible. If we miss it (we’re on a roof), leave a voicemail with your name, postcode and a description of what’s happening. We call back as soon as we’re down.

Do you cover commercial properties for emergencies?

Yes — pubs, shops, restaurants, offices. Commercial flat-roof emergencies (failed seams, ponding, blown felt) are common, especially after storms.

What areas do you cover for emergencies?

Cranbrook, Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge, Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Ashford, Canterbury, Sittingbourne, Faversham, Margate and most points between. Further out (East Sussex, Hampshire), call and we’ll tell you straight whether we can attend.
